A sweet and spicy condiment to serve with Spiced Lentil Dinner

I thought making chutney was a big, involved process. This recipe was easy and came together in 15 minutes! And it’s very tasty. You can, of course, adjust how spicy you want it by adding or subtracting the red pepper. I think the ½ teaspoon is perfect. I didn’t have chopped dates, so I chopped them up by hand. Myra says you can chop them in the food processor, but mine were very fresh and sticky.

I also read somewhere that chutney is good on grilled cheese sandwiches, so of course I had to try it. Delicious!
